Bridal Gift for Under $25!

I am to the age now where many of my friends are getting engaged and married. If you have ever been in a wedding you know how fun they are but how quickly the expenses can add up. Most people just graduating college and starting out don't have a ton of money so I put together this gift for my friend Tiffany. I did add a Kate Spade ring dish (I got it for $17!) that was actually a Christmas gift but the pictures are all of items featured in the under $25 part. The basket is something I already had on hand but comes from the Dollar Tree.

The pens and note pad I picked up for $1 each out of the Target Dollar Section. They were too cute not to add, plus for a $1 the pens are pretty nice.

I really liked this planning notebook, it had just about every checklist a bride would need from cake choices to bridal party planning to wedding music. I picked it up for $11 at Books-A-Million. A bridal magazine is a must and something she will likely buy anyway so I chose Bridal Guide. It is one of the more reasonably price bridal magazines at $5.99 and to me has more articles for real life brides who don't have a budget of $60,000.

I did use coupons on the Orly nail polishes. They were buy one, get one half off and I also had a $5 off coupon at Sally's so I got them for around $2.99 each. I loved the polish names but also the colors. They are both really pretty pinks that are good for everyday wear.

In total I spent $24.97, 3 cents under my budget! No this isn't the most extravagant gift but full of things a bride can actually use and appreciate so I am happy with how it turned out.

Meet the Blogger: Shelby

Hi everyone! You may previously know me from my blog An American Girl but after many years I have decided to shut it down. Closing my old blog was a hard decision but a necessary one. I am very excited to start working on The Stylish Sister and even have a partner in crime. My youngest sister Allie will be contributing as well.

The Stylish Sister will remain a lifestyle blog but with an emphasis on beauty and fashion. My mission is to create a blog that focuses on beauty and fashion while remaining in a budget.

I am a bank teller by day and a blogger by night. I had no interest in beauty until I worked as a beauty consultant for Estee Lauder and now makeup is my life. As a money conscious twenty something I know it can be tough to balance being stylish and staying within a budget. I have always loved fashion and transitioning into a 9 to 5 job in an office has been an adjustment. I try to focus on ways to save whether it is thrift shopping, following the sales, or finding ways to rework what you have.

I love my dogs, my boyfriend, my friends and family, Husker football, matte lipstick, and a good sale.

I am looking forward to getting back into the blogging world. Stay tuned for my sister's meet the blogger post!
